General Product Safety

Keep the floor, all entrances, and all exits clear. Do not stand, hang, jump, or climb on beds, roof, walls, door, plumbing fixtures, or other shelter elements. 

Do not unscrew bolts, nuts, binding fixtures, or other structural hardware. Do not tamper with, alter, or remove electrical panel. 

Do not remove or tamper with safety features, including, without limitation: smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, and fire extinguishers. Smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector batteries should be tested regularly. 

Moving parts and sharp corners/objects may cause injury. Openings for air conditioning and some windows are not suitable exits or entrances. Emergency exits are clearly marked.  

Ventilate shelter as needed to ensure adequate oxygen levels. Do not block vents. Do not store dangerous or flammable items or chemicals in shelter. 

Floor may be slippery when wet. Use caution. 

Modifications

Any modifications made to the shelter (other than what is recommended by Pallet for the shelter’s intended and foreseeable use) will void manufacturer’s warranty. 

Heater

Keep objects away from the heater, allowing a minimum clearance of three feet. Shelter is not suitable for third-party heaters. Do not use heaters that have not been approved by Pallet. Heaters not approved include, without limitation: barbecue, propane, camp stove-style heaters, and stand-alone space heaters. 

Bed

If your shelter includes a bed permanently attached to the wall:

Firmly secure the bed and all appropriate latches, nuts, and bolts (in the upright position for storage or sleeping position for rest, depending on intended use).

Beds must be used in the correct position. Beds are not suitable for any weight load when inverted or secured in the upright position.

Bed weight limit: 350 lb.

If your shelter includes a freestanding bed:

Do not stand or jump on bed. Exercise caution. Bed is freestanding and not attached to shelter floor. Do not unscrew or remove any structural hardware from bed.  

Beds must be used in the correct position. Do not attempt to fold beds.  

Bed weight limit: 1,500 lb.

Shelving

If your shelter includes a shelving unit permanently attached to the back wall:

Do not sit, lean, or hang on shelves. Do not exceed prescribed weight limit for shelves.

Shelf weight limit: 100 lb.

No single point load greater than 25 lb.

If your shelter includes wire shelving that can be rearranged:

Do not sit, lean, or hang on shelves. Do not exceed prescribed weight limit for shelves. Exercise caution if moving or rearranging shelves. Be careful not to pinch fingers or hands. Do not unscrew or remove any structural hardware from shelves.  

No single point load greater than 45 lb.  

Desk

Do not stand, jump, or sit on desk. Exercise caution and watch out for sharp objects. Do not unscrew or remove any structural hardware from desk. 

EnSuite Shelter and Hygiene Units

In addition to the General Product Safety guidelines above, do not hang on or apply weight to the shower curtain rod. Floor may be slippery when wet. Use caution. 

Community Room Units

In addition to the General Product Safety guidelines above, do not hang on or apply weight to the roof support cables.
